Mesa Top. Dry elevated tundra with shallow
well-drained soils on fractured bedrock.
Dominated by Dryas octapetala, Silene acaulis
lichens, grasses, and low-growing herbs and
woody shrubs. Flowers pink. Very common
(nearly ubiquitous).
