Egilobium latifolium L.
(Onaqraceae)
Mesa Slope. Dry well-drained tundra with
shallow soils or steep talus. Dominated by
Cassiope tetragona, Dryas octapetala,
Potentilla spp., lichens, and low-growing
herbs and shrubs. Collected on scree slopes
on N and S sides of Mesa. Petals bright rose
red; sepals red, not veined like petals.
