Alpine zone ccnsisting primarily of mats oi Dryas ocfopeiala on exposed sites,
talus slopes. and sedge meadows in protecied areas. Elev. 3800-6500 ft.
Very common. These from a south-facing guiley
adjacent to a snow field. Petals white with
bluish tinge on the back.
