Mesa Slope. Dry well-drained tundra with
shallow soils or steep talus. Dominated by
Cassiope tetraqona, Dryas octapetala,
Potentilla spp., lichens, and low-growing
herbs and shrubs. Flowers yellow. Very common
on dry, rocky soil, although senescent at most
localities at lower elevations.
