Mesa Slope. Dry well-drained tundra with
shallow soils or steep talus. Dominated by
Cassiope tetragona, Dryas octapetala,
Potentilla spp., lichens, and low-growing
herbs and shrubs. Collected growing on
sheltered rock ledge. Flowers purple; anthers
very dark. Fairly com on.
