Mesa Slope. Dry well-drained tundra with
shallow soils or steep talus. Dominated by
Cassiope tetraqona, Dryas octapetala,
Potentilla spp., lichens, and low-growing
herbs and shrubs. Collected at top of scree
slope on N side of Mesa. Petals white. Red
bulblets in axils of upper leaves; white bulb
lets on some individuals at base. Common onl
in locality.
