Mesa Top. Dry elevated tundra with shallow
well-drained soil on fractured bedrock.
Dominated by Dryas octapetala, Silene acaulis,
lichens, grasses, and low-growing herbs and
woody shrubs. Collected from a turfy patch on
rock outcrop on E end of Mesa. Densely tufted
Fairly common.
